II Kings 18 speaks of when the Assyrians were outside the city walls of Jerusalem, trying to intimidate the people and make them lose heart. They used psychological warfare by speaking to the Israelites in their own language: Hebrew. The Assyrian is a shadow of the enemy. The enemy also wants you to get discouraged, surrender, give up, and be defeated. And to make that happen, he'll seek to speak your language. He tried to use the Scriptures with Messiah, who was the Word made flesh. If you love God, he'll try to use the things of God to pull you away from God: doctrines, ideas of holiness, and other believers to cause division and misguide you. He'll use your past, your weaknesses, your wounds, and your rejections. The key in dealing with him is to disconnect, disengage, cut off the voice, the temptation, the thought, and pay no mind. Trust in God's Word. The Israelites were victorious because they chose to trust God and not engage with the enemy. Therefore, do not engage with the enemy, and he will eventually find that he's got nothing on you.

Today, refuse to get into a debate with the enemy. Turn away, blank him out, ignore him, and turn to God.
