The Karav

Wednesday, October 13, 2021

The priests of Israel were in charge of ministering to and from the Lord. For these to enter their ministry, they had to go through a process of ordination. Exodus 29:8 says, "And you shall bring his sons and put garments on them." The Hebrew word used for bring is karav. Karav means: bring them near. It also means to approach God, to join, to offer, or to make ready. They only received their priestly garments, their mantle, and their anointing, if they first came near to God. That's the secret of all ministry. If you want to do great things for God, you have to karav - draw near to God. The nearer you are to God, the greater the anointing. That's why the priests who ministered for God were the ones who had access to draw near to His presence: it goes together. If you want to fulfill your ministry, put on your mantle, and be anointed, then learn the meaning of karav. The key to all you do for the Lord is how close you come to dwell in His courts and to worship in His holy presence.
