There's a beautiful mystery hidden in the Hebrew word for bridegroom; khatan. Khatan means the one who marries or gives himself in covenant; the one who gives himself away. Messiah is the bridegroom. He is the Khatan, the One who marries your soul, who gives Himself away. He gave His life away on the cross. If you have accepted Him, you don't have to worry about Him rejecting you, not listening or responding to you, or being through with you for all the times you've messed up. You don't have to convince God to love and be faithful to you or draw near to you. As the Khatan, it's His nature to love and draw near to you. He joined Himself to you through the gift of His life on the cross. He's the One who gives Himself to you. So let Him be joined to you in every part of your life: the good and bad, in public and private; in all things. For He will become one with you, and you'll be blessed and fruitful because that's who He is. Your Beloved just happens to be the Khatan.

Today, rest in God's love for you. Remember that He loves you as He loves Himself because He's joined to you, and every part of you.
