Cannibals, Headhunters... But Not My Family!

I've talked with believers that say they'll share the Gospel with almost anybody - mass murderers, serial killers, Nazis, or even headhunting, Neo-Nazi, Ku Klux Klan, cannibals - anybody but one group. Who are they? Family. They'll share with any other group - as long as it's not their family. Imagine you're drowning and yelling, "Help!" and the lifeguard says, "Sorry, I can't save you." You cry out, "Why?" They answer, "You're a relative. I make it a policy not to save family members. It's too awkward. It causes too many problems." Could that be you? Are you more loving to those outside your family? Are you acting godlier to outsiders, more patient, kinder, and more gracious than you are to the people of your own house? Remember that the Great Commission started in Jerusalem and then went to the world. Take all that unconditional love, that patience, that radical forgiveness and mercy; take all that boldness and zeal and bring it to the most radical place - your family. You'll get to the headhunting, Neo-Nazi, Ku Klux Klan, cannibals, but first bless your family.rn
