In Matthew 7, Messiah speaks of wolves. Wolves are dog-like carnivores that chase and stalk their prey and go for blood. When they see blood, they go for the kill. On the contrary, sheep are timid, and spend their days grazing in herds. They are totally without protection from their predators. If you belong to the Lord, you're one of the sheep. At the same time, the Lord describes the enemy of our souls as a wolf. The problem is wolves are a lot stronger than sheep, and are more cunning, ferocious, and dangerous. Though sheep are defenseless on their own... they're usually not on their own, but with a shepherd. So, wise sheep learn not to trust in their own strength, abilities, discernment, or perception. Instead, they learn to trust the shepherd, and they learn to trust his eyes, his strength, and his discernment. And so it is with you. You have a shepherd, the Shepherd of your soul. And the things which war against your soul are no match for the Shepherd. So trust not in your strength or judgment, but learn to trust in His. And stay close by His side.
From Message #617 - Wolves In Sheep's Clothing
Read Psalm 23 all over again today, but this time read it through the eyes of a sheep - meditate on it - let the Spirit teach you its deep truths - applied to your life.
