Manah: The Secret Of An Ordained Future

Saturday, January 2, 2021

When someone is about to go into ministry, there is often something called an ordination service in which other ministers lay hands on, pray over, publicly recognize, anoint, and commission him for the ministry and purpose for which he has been called by God. In Psalm 90, Moses writes a very famous verse, "Teach us to number our days O Lord that we may have a heart of wisdom." Does it mean that we should realize the limited number of days we have on earth? Yes. But it means even more. The word "number" here is a translation of the Hebrew "manah" which also means to appoint and ordain. So it can be translated, "Teach us to appoint our days, to ordain our time." If you let your days go by without ordaining them, they will just go by wasted and missing the purpose for which they were meant. What kind of year do you want this to be? Don't let it just go by. Ordain it. Schedule your ordination service - consecrate, dedicate, appoint, and commission this coming year for God, so that it will fulfill the purpose for which it was called, to be a blessing in your life.
