AMERICA THE DARKENED

Shalom, to you my Friend and Co-Minister in the Great Commission...

Abraham Lincoln referred to America as "the last, best hope of earth." And in many ways, it could be argued that, as far as nations were concerned, he was right. America would serve as a refuge for millions of downtrodden refugees seeking safety and relief and then in the era of the Second World War, the 'arsenal of democracy,' the opponent of Fascism and Nazism, and the liberator of Europe. In the postwar age, America would keep the world from being overtaken by Communist oppression and embody the ideals of human rights, democracy, and freedom. In the face of the two great totalitarian evils of the 20th century, Nazism and Communism, America stood out as a force for good and the embodiment of Judeo-Christian civilization and values.

But something has changed - and dramatically so. The America in which we now live or see from a distance, is not the same America many of us once knew. In fact, in many ways, it has become diametrically opposed to the America that once was. The reality is that since the mid-20th century, America has become the leading exporter of the anti-Biblical morality of the 'Sexual Revolution.' It is also the leading creator and global disseminator of pornography.

Beginning with the Obama administration and continuing under the Biden administration, America now spreads, pushes, and seeks to coerce and force more conservative nations to adopt, practice, and promote the killing of unborn children through abortion. And now America has become the leading global advocate of the LGBT agenda, flying rainbow flags next to the American flag outside its embassies, and seeking to force other nations to accept and celebrate homosexuality. This, too, began with the Obama administration and has all the more advanced under the Biden presidency. At the time of this writing, America is funding gay activists in Ukraine to break down that nation's resistance to homosexuality and, at the same time, flying a gay rainbow flag in Rome for the Vatican to see. America is also displaying before the world a radical transgender ideology that encourages children to be surgically transitioned into the opposite sex. And beyond that, America is now exporting a radical leftist agenda that is destabilizing cultures across the world.

To show how dramatically things have changed, it was common to view Europe as always more liberal, more socialist, less Christian, and to the left of America. But increasingly, European nations are trying to shield themselves from American influence - in the realm of homosexuality, transgenderism, abortion, radical left wing ideology, and even anti-conservative and anti-Christian cancel culture.

America is now racing away from the God of its foundation. So if the "last, best hope of earth" should become no hope at all, then what is left for the world? The end-times and the only hope of God.

Whatever happens to America will touch the world. So let us pray all the more diligently this month for revival. And let us be a light, bold and blazing, to the world - and to America. And may God greatly bless you as you do!
