If you go to Israel as a believer, you don't go for a vacation. You don't go to Israel to sit around a swimming pool or sit in a luxury hotel watching television. You go to Israel for a pilgrimage. A pilgrimage is for getting closer to God. Too many believers view this life as a vacation. They expect it to entertain them. They expect everything to be comfortable, everyone to be serving their needs and wants, room service, air-conditioning, and color televisions. And you know what? They end up being the most miserable of people. You see, this life isn't a vacation. It's a pilgrimage. Therefore it's not about accommodations; it's not about being comfortable. It's not about having people serve you or meet your needs or wants. It's about drawing closer to God - and that usually doesn't happen through the easy things, but the hard. God promises all things in your life will work together for good. So don't try to make this life a vacation. Make it a pilgrimage - And you know what? You'll have a blast.
