In the Book of Ruth, Boaz was Naomi's Goel - her Kinsman-Redeemer: If a man died and left his widow childless, his nearest relative was to redeem his line by marrying his widow and giving her children. He was called the 'Goel.' The law of the Goel required that your redeemer had to be a close relative. So Messiah is our Kinsman-Redeemer. What does that mean? It means that God is your relative. Your life needed saving, but only a close relative could save it. Thus, God was born of flesh and blood and became your brother, your relative, your Goel so He could save you. God chose to become your relative - He related Himself to you. He shared in your sorrows, your sufferings, your tears, your loneliness, your sins, your judgment, and your cross so He could redeem you. When you feel far away from God, remember the word "Goel." For He's not only your Redeemer, He's your Kinsman-Redeemer, your relative, your brother. Whatever you're going through, good or bad, share it with Him. For He already shared your life so that you might share of His.
From Message #704 - Like A Brother
Today, whatever you are going through, good or bad, share it with Him. He's your Goel!
