In 1403, Agnes de Rocher, the daughter of a rich Paris merchant decided to spend the rest of her life inside a little cell for what she thought the glory of God. In October of that year she entered her cell, only a few square feet in area. The masons then filled up the entrance leaving only a small hole through which Agnes could receive food. She was eighteen when she went in, and remained inside the darkness until she died at 98. You see, there are many ways to build living tombs. You can build a living tomb out of anger and bitterness, self-pity, pride, vanity, self-righteousness, hopelessness and despair. You may right now be dwelling inside the darkness of a living tomb. But God has not called you to spend your days inside the darkness of your tomb. He calls you out... just as He called Lazarus. His word to you is, "Come out of that dark place. Break the walls down. I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly and not so you would spend your days inside the walls of a living tomb."
