In the Bible, the New Years celebration was always linked to the New Moon. In fact, the Hebrew word for New Moon - Chodesh - also means Month. The word Chodesh comes from the Chadash - which means to Renew - to Rebuild - to Repair, & to Heal. It's this word that appears in the Scriptures, "I will give them a new heart..." Thus, the same One who makes the moon new each month, is the same One who has the power to make your heart new. How does the moon become new, or, for that matter, full each month? Only one way - by letting itself be filled up to reflect, more and more, the light of the sun. The same with you - the more you look into the light of the Son, the more new you'll become. So when you look up this year and see the moon - remember this message. This year, more than ever, be filled with the light of the Son, and your walk will become new, your zeal will be new, your love, your joy, your life, and your heart - it will be a year of newness.
