The Feast of Passover or Unleavened Bread lasted 7 days. During the feast, the Spring Harvest began as well as a countdown. Every day for 49 days, for 7 weeks and then on the next day, the Israelites would celebrate the next holy day, "The Feast of Shavuot or the Feast of Weeks." It was called the Feast of Weeks because of the 7 weeks that were linked to Passover. The Rabbis called Shavuot (Atzeret) because it meant "the conclusion," the final Day of Passover. Shavuot completed what began on Passover. Messiah brought redemption on Passover.... then came 40 days He spent on earth. Then 10 more days came - the Day of Pentecost, the Hebrew Feast of Shavuot - the completion of Messiah's Atonement. Just as Passover is not without Shavuot, so the Atonement is not without the giving of the Spirit, your salvation. You can never fulfill your walk without the Spirit. The giving of the Spirit is the Atzeret, the completion of salvation. Are you born again? Live by the Spirit. Whatever God has called you to do... He will complete it by the Spirit. Do everything by the Spirit, for the Spirit is the Atzeret.
From Message #614 - The Incense and the Glory
Aspire to live and rise to higher standards today - to do what you haven't done before - but seek to do it by the power of the Spirit.
