The Demographics Prophecy

Friday, February 1, 2013

Dear Friend, I hope you're doing great in the Lord's love. There's a prophecy concerning the future of America that is one of the easiest ways to know what's ahead - at least as much as the future concerns American society and culture, barring a change. It's found in studies on demographics and age. The Demographics Prophecy Word for the Month & for Friday, Feb. 1 Scripture: John 12:46 See Message: The House of Spirits The premise is simple. Those who are children or young adults now, will be leading culture and society in the years to come. So what do we find? A POST-CHRISTIAN SOCIETY Recent polls have revealed that the fastest growing religious segment in America is the non-religious segment - atheists, the secular, those with no religion. The number of Americans who say they are religious dropped from 73 percent in 2005 to 60 percent now - a major change - a drop of 13 percentage points in just 7 years. The number of Americans who say they are atheist rose from 1 percent to 5x that number. But the polls reveal more. The younger generation is even less religious, or the least religious major segment of society. Of Americans 18-22, one third of them declare themselves to be agnostic, atheist, or nothing in particular. Some studies have shown that of Americans age 30 and below, one of three do not consider themselves to be Christian. Thus we can conclude that, without change, or revival, the America of future days will be far more secular, and Christianity will be far less established, far less likely to hold even the place it holds now in American culture. POST-CHRISTIAN MORALITY In this last election, for voters ages 35 and under, the percentage in favor of redefining marriage was an overwhelming 70%, or 7 out of 10. Even if there were no cultural barrage for homosexuality, the simple process of aging would mean that by the next presidential election, of all voters 40 years old and below, at least 70% will be for gay marriage. Further, those who call themselves "non-religious" are 70% likely to vote Democratic or Liberal. What about the future of the Republican party, the more conservative of the two, and the more likely to align with evangelical Christians? Young Republicans are also overwhelmingly pro-gay marriage and pro-abortion. Combine this statistic with the change in American culture concerning homosexuality, it is hard to see how the Republican Party, barring a reversal of these trends, will be able to continue its stand against gay advocacy and gay marriage. THE FUTURE OF AMERICA Simply stated, unless there is a major change or intervention, the America of the future will be less grounded in the Bible, less likely to be identified by the name "Christian," less rooted in Biblical morality, for abortion, and for the embracing of homosexuality. If the generation that grew up in the 1950s and 1960s, under Eisenhower and Kennedy, watching things like Ozzie and Harriet and Father Knows Best on television produced the American culture we know today - what kind of America will the generation being raised on what we now see, produce in the years to come? Are we prepared? All the more, commit to living strong in the power of His might and to being a light to this world in the darkness. Your brother and co-laborer, in His love and service, Jonathan
