Past Project Summary By Location
SOME OF THE AREAS YOU'VE HELPED TO REACH AROUND THE WORLD
THROUGH HOPE OF THE WORLD
BOLIVIA: Together we've helped to provide a van for
transportation at a medical clinic in Vinto, Bolivia.
MIZORAM: 56 new Mizoram Beth Israel congregations
were supported and discipled, as we expanded our tents in
the hill country of Mizoram, where the lost tribe of Manasseh
are now worshiping and praising their Messiah Jesus.
ASIA: Through Guine Anderson's Hong Kong based church
planting ministry, we've helped build and strengthen churches
in India, Nepal, Tibet all throughout Asia.
AFRICA: Together we provided a water system for the
Maasai Tribe. The Maasai people of Africa are used to traveling
miles just for water to drink. The gifts of love that we sent
are helping to provide water for families there.
GUATEMALA: Starving poor children were provided with
food as Hope of the World sent gifts to provide stoves, food,
and open the doors for an entire lunch program to be launched
in Jocotan, Guatemala.
BRAZIL: In Londrina, Brazil, milk and bread was provided
for the hungry there. And we provided assistance to the new
Beth Israel congregations that were recently birthed there.
ISRAEL: Most recently, we are assisting those who
have been hurt, disabled, and suffering as a result of terrorism
in the land of Israel. We are reaching out to these victims
with God's Word and His healing touch.
YUNAN PROVINCE: Our current project is to provide
Bibles to persecuted believers in the Yunan province in China,
bordering Burma, Laos and Vietnam. Approximately 40 families
currently share only one Bible. We're giving them the Word
of Life and Hope.
INDIA: Many children in India live in places with
no electricity or lighting. In 1997 we were able to provide
lanterns for children's homes throughout India. The lanterns
enabled them to continue their activities, complete school
work, and receive the extra care they needed.
BOSNIA: Thousands of abandoned children roam the cities
of war-torn Bosnia alone, hungry and cold. We were able to
help ship convoys of food via tractor-trailer into the nation
- keeping many alive through the cold winter months.
GEORGIA: Working through Abraham's Blessing, we helped
to provide food, clothing to those in hospitals, orphanages,
Messianic congregations and Holocaust survivors in the former
Soviet Republic of Georgia.
NEW YORK CITY: On the streets of New York City are
abandoned mothers, homeless with their children. This year
we were able to help in a special project which provided food,
clothing, transportation, and medical supplies for these mothers
and their children.
SOUTH SUDAN: Millions of Sudanese Christians are being
persecuted, imprisoned, tortured, or killed for their faith
by the Muslim forces of Northern Sudan. This year, through
Operation Nehemiah we were able to assist persecuted believers
in South Sudan with food, medical supplies, transportation
of relief, and support and encouragement to churches there.
THE PHILIPPINES: Many believers in the Philippines
have no place to worship. This year we were able to provide
them with bamboo churches in the city of manila. The bamboo
churches we built in the past, in Mindanao and Lupao, are
still housing multitudes of believers.
MEXICO: Thousands of children in Mexico live in the
equivalent of garbage dumps and bathe in polluted streams.
This year we were able to bless the children of Reynosa, Mexico,
with gifts of love to help meet their physical and spiritual
needs.
BANGLADESH: In Bangladesh are many willing pastors
and evangelists of the Gospel seeking to reach the lost of
their country. But many of their people live in remote regions,
and few people have cars. This year we were able to enable
these believers of Bangladesh to reach their brethren with
God's love by providing them with bicycles.
ISRAEL: In Israel, with more Jewish people coming
to know the Messiah, Orthodox persecution of believers is
heating up. A proposed anti-missionary bill threatens to make
evangelism illegal. At a time when doors threaten to close
we are helping and working with several Israeli and Messianic
ministries to spread the Gospel throughout the land.
UGANDA: Victims of religious persecution in Africa
are gathered in refugee camps in Uganda. They've asked us
to provide them with tape recorders so they can play Hope
of the World tapes throughout the camps so that they all might
hear the message of hope and salvation.
ISRAEL: During the Jewish holidays, a Messianic congregation
in Israel was fire bombed. The building was used to provide
food & clothing to immigrants there from the former Soviet
Union. Our most recent compassion project is to help provide
them with a new building.
THE JEWISH COMMUNITY IN THE U.S.: For missionary,
Lauren Waitsman, called out from our congregation to go into
full-time mission work - to reach out to the Jewish people
with the Gospel.
